At the For Good Foundation, we believe in supporting initiatives that protect and uplift our community’s most vulnerable members. That's why we were proud to sponsor and support the recent Auction for Advocacy hosted by Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center. The event not only raised crucial funds for their services but also helped bring attention to the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for children who have experienced abuse.
About Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center
Small Talk’s mission is simple but vital: to provide a child-centered approach to healing for children and families who have been affected by abuse. By offering specialized forensic interviews, therapy, and advocacy services, they ensure that children have a safe space to share their experiences and begin the journey toward recovery.
In 2023 alone, Small Talk served over 400 children, providing them with a safe place to find their voice. Statistics like these remind us how critical it is to support organizations that put the well-being of children first.
Why the Auction for Advocacy Matters
The Auction for Advocacy isn’t just a fundraiser; it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and show that the safety and well-being of children is a priority. According to Small Talk, one in ten children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday, and the average age of abuse disclosure is only nine years old. Events like these raise awareness about the prevalence of abuse and help ensure that no child feels alone or unheard.
This year’s auction featured an array of incredible items donated by local businesses and community members, and all proceeds will go directly to supporting Small Talk’s essential services. By attending, donating, or simply spreading the word, we were able to be a part of a movement that aims to reduce the trauma experienced by children and help them regain a sense of normalcy.
Our Commitment
Supporting the Auction for Advocacy aligns with the For Good Foundation’s broader mission of promoting positive change in our community. We believe that every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, supported, and empowered, and we’re proud to stand with Small Talk in making that vision a reality.
